Exploring Life And Faith On The Road

Updated: Jan 3

5 years ago this month Denese and I said goodbye to sticks and bricks life in our home of over 20 years in California. The rewards of retirement come in many forms for all of us and when it comes, your life enters a new season. We have been RV owners much of our lives and always loved “escaping” whenever we could as the kids were growing up. After reviewing our life options during retirement, we decided to spend a few years traveling before we “land” in a new place to settle.

Big Mo and Sprocket

People said, "wont you get fed up with camping"? Well, its not exactly camping, its more like an apartment on wheels as our daughter in law once said. So, why Big Mo and Sprocket you ask? Many travelers affectionately name their vehicles I guess, because they are with them 24/7 and they are traveling companions. A tow vehicle is known as a “toad” in the traveling community and so Denese named ours after a rock band from the 80’s Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Big Mo. . . . . Well, its big!

We decided to share our travels with family, friends and YOU. It may be that you are reviewing your life options and considering a similar lifestyle. We hope that our journey will inspire and perhaps entertain you a bit as well. We have been to many wonderful places in this country and you can travel with us through our videos If you enjoyed the Gilded Age series then you will like on of our latest videos which takes us to the opulent Vanderbilt mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.

Finding Faith

We found faith later in life in our 40’s having seen a family member’s life radically changed (for the better) and being invited to Alpha, a program where skeptics, agnostics, atheists and just about anyone remotely inquisitive/rebellious about spirituality are welcome to explore Christianity. I went kicking and screaming determined to debunk this “religious myth”. Both Denese and I went to church as a kid, but found it generally boring and irrelevant. For us, Alpha changed that opinion, and its well worth checking out. (learn more about Alpha here)

Fast forward a few years and here we are, hosting online Alpha Courses coast to coast. We would love to have you join. The next course begins on Wednesday night February 1st, 6:00 pm PST. It's on Zoom and so you can bring your dinner/snack or favorite beverage and join from the comfort of your home. If it sounds interesting then join us for the first session, if its not for you, no worries. Email us with questions or register below
